Zeynep Neris Kaplan is a Turkish contemporary artist based in Istanbul, Turkiye. She received her Bachelor’s degree in the Department of Painting at Abant İzzet Baysal University and continued her education at Šiauliai University in Lithuania through an academic exchange program. She earned her Master’s degree in the Department of Painting at Atatürk University, Institute of Fine Arts.
Kaplan’s artistic practice investigates the psychological and emotional dimensions of contemporary urban life. Working primarily with acrylic on canvas, she creates layered surfaces where colour, texture, line, and fragmented human figures intertwine. Her paintings explore themes of memory, isolation, transformation, and the fragile relationship between individuals and the environments they inhabit. Rather than depicting specific places, her works construct imagined spaces that reflect the complexities of modern existence.
She has participated in solo and group exhibitions in Turkey and internationally. Through an intuitive and process-based approach, Kaplan continues to develop a visual language that balances abstraction and figuration, inviting viewers to contemplate the subtle traces of human presence within contemporary landscapes.
